He served in Co., H, 13th Regiment of Indian Cavalry, being mustered in on 28 Jan 1864 at New Albany, Indiana, and mustered out on 18 Nov 1865 at Vicksburg, Mississippi. He received $60. at muster - in and $180. at muster out in bounty money. He retained his sabre. He married Mary Catherine on March 22, 1866. Edmund was granted a divorce from Mary Catherine by the Crawford Co., Indiana, Circuit Court on 20 Oct 1892. Mary Catherine did not appear in court to contest the action and, so, forfeited by default.
