    • I.R> Jan. 16, 1890 - James Means an Ironton boy of the '50's was in town last Tuesday. He is now at Ashland visiting his relatives. He has been in Oregon all Summer and has been spending the Winter at Chicago. (Not proven to be same)

      I.W.R. Saturday, August 3, 1895 - FORMER IRONTON CITIZEN - DIES AT LAWRENCE, KANSAS, AND WILL BE BROUGHT HERE FOR BURIAL - James Means, a former Ironton resident, died Saturday evening at Lawrence, Kansas. Mr. C. C. Clarke was notified by telegram of the death and that the remains will be brought to this city for burial. The body is expected to reach here on the late N. & W. train tonight and will be taken direct to the vault at Woodland. The interment will take place at 10 a.m. tomorrow, services being held at the cemetery.

      Friends of the deceased are invited to assemble at the residence of Mr. C. C. Clarke at 10 o'clock tomorrow and proceed thence to the cemetery.

      The deceased was about 46 years of age, and his death is supposed here to have been due to consumption. His wife and two grown sons survive him. He was a son of James Means, sr., a former Iron-master of Ironton and Lawrence county, and was a brother of John W. Means, deceased, formerly engaged in the iron making industry at Hanging Rock. Among the relatives here are Mr. C. C. Clarke, and Mr. Charles Campbell.
