4. Aaron Spencer Hobbs (son of William) b. about 1834; d. 1865-6; m. Nov. 6, 1856 in Lee Co., Va., Naomi C. Reasor, b. July 24, 1840; d. July 11, 1888, dau. of Peter and Rebecca (Ely) Reasor. Aaron's personal property was appraised Oct. 27, 1866 (WBK 3-220) At a Court March 13, 1866. Peter Raiser was appointed guardian of Peter R., John B., and Ira N. Hobbs, infant children of Aaron S. Hobbs, deceased. Naomi C. (Reasor) Hobbs m. 2nd May 24, 1866 Joel Cox b. 1836 in Owsley Co., Ky., son of Jason Cox.
- Served in the Civil War with Company G of the 64 Virginia Mounted infantry which was formed in 1862 and 1863 it became 64th VA Calvary.
After Aaron Spencer Hobbs' death, Naomi's father, Peter Reasor was appointed guardian of Naomi and Aaron Spencer's infant children by the court on 5-13-1866. The three boys, Peter Reasor, John Brackenridge and Ira N., moved with their mother to Wolfe County, Kentuckya fter she married Joel Sturgill Cox Sr. on 5-24-1866. The boys then moved back to Virginia until they were grown, living with the Hobbs in Virginia. They all three taught school in Virginia. They returned to Wolfe County, Kentucky where their mother still lived.
Medical: Died 22 Nov. 1863 POW Camp Douglas, IL
He was taken prisoner Sept. 9, 1863 at Cumberland Gap.

Aaron Hobbs was drafted into the CW and served in the Confederate Army, Co. G. 64th Regt. He was captured near Cumberland Gap, and held as a prisoner of war at Camp Douglas, Illinois. He died there from "inflammation of the lungs."
After his death, Peter Reasor, Naomi's father, was appointed guardian by the court on 13 March 1886, of Peter R., John B. and Ira M. (notes of Shannon Hobbs Cox, 1988)
