    Came from Washington Co., PA in 1812 settled mouth of the Big Sandy (KY) Dec. 24, 1812. In the Spring of 1813 moved over and settled on the farm now (then) owned by Abrams and Campbells.
    Was the first postmaster of Lawrence County, Ohio at Burlington.
     
    Notes 
    • Judge Gabriel Kerr, of Burlington, who was one of the first Associate Judges of Lawrence county, appointed at its organization, in 1817.

      Ironton Register, Feb. 20, 1868 - Burlington was the first post office established in this county, and Gabriel Kerr was the first postmaster. About that time, two dollars constituted the amount of quarterly returns to the government.
