She was born August 1842 in Belmont/Monroe County, Ohio, the daughter of William Elisha and Sara Eleanor Dillon Morris Capper. Elijah was a Civil War Veteran, Company E, 173rd Regiment, Ohio Volunteer Infantry. He was a corporal, having enrolled August 21, 1864, and mustered out September 15, 1864. He was discharged June 26, 1865. He died April 9, 1886, from consumption contracted while in the service. Marguerite died July 24, 1927, in Windsor Twp., Lawrence County, Ohio.
