      The qualities which made Felix one of the prominent and successful men of Kellogg, Jasper County have also brought him the esteem of his fellow townsmen, for his career has been one of well directed energy, strong determination and honorable methods and his career should serve as an incentive and inspiration for others. By his uniform courtesy, amiable disposition and genuine worth he has gained for himself a warm place in the hearts of people of the vicinity.

      Felix attended county schools of Jasper county until 1889 when he entered Westen Normal College at Shenandoah, Iowa, leaving that institution in 1890 having thus received a good education. He worked as a clerk at the Bank in Baxter and kept books for John B. Dresser Lumber Co., He worked for Reeder Bowen Grain Company during the summer and fall. Taught school in the county for 13 terms, during this time he became popular as an educator with both pupils and patrons, he services were in great demand. He was postmaster from 1893 to 1897.

      Felix is a member of the Modern Woodman, and the Independent Order of the Odd Fellows, Politically, he is a Democrat and has taken considerable interest in the affairs of his party. He was appointed Mayor of Kellogg in August, 1910, and was Serving in that capacity in a manor that reflects credit upon himself and to the satisfaction of all concerned. He did much for the permanent good of the town.
